YOUR LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

drainage

When do you need lymphatic drainage?

You feel tired, stressed. You have heavy legs. You are pregnant. You are overweight. You are in a period of hormonal transition related to menopause.

Lymphatic drainage acts effectively against water retention, stress and venous return.

It is recommended to pregnant women who often have heavy legs because of the pressure exerted by the baby, their hormonal system and sitting at work.

Moreover, after a lymphatic drainage session, we often notice sleep improvement and a positive action on digestion and stress. Indeed, the drainage mimics the movements induced by the parasympatic system responsible for our internal functioning.

In case of swelling or rapid weight gain, do not hesitate to consult your doctor.

What is lymphatic drainage?

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle manual technique that respects the rhythm, direction and pressure of the lymphatic system. It stimulates the lymphatic system and therefore has positive effects on heavy legs and the evacuation, recovery and cleansing systems of the body (venous, digestive, skin, urinary and sleep). It helps to detoxify the body, while strengthening the immune system.

Manual lymphatic drainage is performed with the fingers and the palms of the hands on the whole body by varying the pressure.

What does it feel like after a drainage?

Lymphatic drainage provides a feeling of well-being and lightness because the lymph has been drained towards the veins, the heart, and finally the urine. Indeed, the lymphatic circulation has been stimulated and the toxins are evacuated.

At the end of the drainage session, you may feel tired for a few minutes. This effect dissipates very quickly (our body being more sensitive to stress than to relaxation).

How to optimize the effects of drainage?

To facilitate the lymphatic drainage of our body, we accompany it with a good hydration and a balanced diet, but also with the practice of a regular physical activity such as brisk walking, swimming or any fitness activity in water. Thus, the intercellular cleansing is done properly.

What is lymph and what does it do?

Lymph is a colorless liquid that circulates through the lymphatic vessels due to the pulsating contractions of muscles and blood vessels. As a waste disposal system, it drains excess fluid, toxins and cellular debris.

Nodes located along the lymphatic vessels, especially in the groin folds, under the armpits and on each side of the neck, help filter the lymph and remove the toxins and debris it carries.

When lymph circulation is deficient, the body can become weakened and intoxicated, which can lead to various health problems: swelling of the limbs, premature aging, cellulite, heavy legs, stretch marks, etc.
