COMPLEMENTARY TO ACUPUNCTURE
Complementary to acupuncture, moxibustion tones up the body’s energy and contributes to improving its immunity.
What is moxibustion?
Moxibustion is a method of traditional Chinese medicine.
It consists of heating acupuncture points with a stick or cone of moxa. The moxa is made from dried and powdered mugwort leaves.
The main effects of moxibustion are:
- tonify the energy
- to fluidify the circulation of Qi and Blood in the meridians
- relieve pain
- improve the body’s immunity.
How is moxibustion practiced?
Moxibustion is a complement to acupuncture. It is a method that can be chosen by the therapist to reinforce acupuncture.
The moxa stick is positioned near the point to be toned. The heat generated penetrates the meridian and tones the targeted areas.
The radiation, the heat, the smell and the smoke released by the use of the moxa act together in the therapeutic effect sought.
