Who is Mickaël Lett?

Mickaël Lett is a traditional Chinese medicine therapist at La Clinique Naturelle in Geneva. For more than 20 years, he has been studying and practicing various disciplines of traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, Tui Na massage, and Chinese herbal medicine.

His career path led him to further his education in China. In particular, he earned a master’s degree in osteotraumatology from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and completed clinical rotations at various hospitals in Nanjing, Zhangjiagang, and Shanghai.

Mickaël also has extensive training in Chinese pharmacopoeia and Chinese oncology. He holds the OrTra MA field-specific certificate and is accredited by ASCA, RME, and APTN.

His practice of Chinese medicine is also closely linked to his background in Chinese martial arts, which he has been practicing for over 30 years. This experience has given him a unique understanding of movement, the body, and its balance.

The Chinese medicine methods practiced by Mickaël

acupuncture

Acupuncture

To provide personalized care based on specific points on the body.

After a discussion and an assessment based on the principles of Chinese medicine, Mickaël selects the acupuncture points based on the patient’s condition, symptoms, and how they have progressed.

tuina

Tui Na massage

To manually target muscle tension and specific areas of the body.

Tui Na combines various massage, pressure, and mobilization techniques derived from traditional Chinese medicine. Mickaël’s training in osteotraumatology and his extensive experience in martial arts give him unique expertise in bodywork and the musculoskeletal system.

Pharmacopee

Chinese Pharmacopoeia

To supplement the support with a personalized plan.

Mickaël holds a master's degree in Chinese herbal medicine. After conducting an assessment, he can recommend a treatment tailored to the individual's specific situation.

It is important to inform him of any ongoing medical treatments, known health problems, and a possible pregnancy so that he can take the necessary precautions and contraindications into account.

To complement acupuncture when appropriate

Depending on the patient's condition and needs, Mickaël may also incorporate moxibustion or cupping into his sessions.

These techniques are not always used together. Mickaël selects the most appropriate tools based on the situation, his training, and the preferences of the person he is coaching.

General practice and specific areas of expertise

Traditional Chinese medicine is not limited to a specific list of conditions. Mickaël takes into account the symptoms, their progression, the person’s overall health, and any treatments already being followed in order to provide personalized care.

Nevertheless, his career path and training have enabled him to gain specialized experience in certain fields.

douleur

Pain, Tension, and the Musculoskeletal System

Muscle and joint pain, tension, stiffness, and various musculoskeletal issues are a major focus of Mickaël’s practice.

His master's degree in osteotraumatology from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, his practice of Tui Na, and his experience in Chinese martial arts enable him to address these issues using a variety of techniques.

Depending on the situation, he may use or combine acupuncture, Tui Na, moxibustion, or cupping, among other techniques.

métabolisme

Support Throughout the Cancer Treatment Journey

Mickaël completed a three-year training program in Chinese oncology to deepen his understanding of how to use traditional Chinese medicine to support people undergoing cancer treatment.

In this context, traditional Chinese medicine can be viewed solely as a complementary approach, particularly to help manage certain symptoms or side effects experienced during the course of treatment.

It does not treat cancer and is in no way a substitute for medical treatment or oncological care. Mickaël takes ongoing medical treatments into account and adapts the techniques he uses to each person’s individual situation.

Digestive disorders

Mickaël also helps relieve various digestive symptoms, such as bloating, digestive discomfort, and irregular bowel movements.

In Chinese medicine, a comprehensive assessment allows the practitioner to consider not only digestive symptoms but also their context, progression, and any other symptoms that may be associated with them.

Acupuncture can be used on its own or, when appropriate, supplemented with Tui Na or Chinese herbal medicine.

fatigue

Stress, Sleep, and Fatigue

Stress, sleep problems, fatigue, or certain anxiety-related symptoms are also among the reasons people may seek Mickaël’s help.

He tailors his support to the person’s overall situation and to how their symptoms evolve over the course of the sessions.

Mickaël's Approach

Each counseling session begins with an in-depth discussion focused on the reason for the consultation, the symptoms, their progression, the person’s medical history, and their overall health.

Mickaël rounds out this consultation with an assessment based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. In particular, he uses observation, palpation, tongue examination, and pulse diagnosis to tailor his treatment plan.

Based on this assessment, he determines which methods seem most appropriate. A session may focus primarily on acupuncture or Tui Na, or combine several techniques when appropriate.

The frequency of sessions and the techniques used may change over the course of the counseling process depending on the situation and the client’s responses.

When necessary, Mickaël recommends seeking medical advice or approaches his support in a way that complements conventional medicine and the healthcare professionals who are already treating the person.

A practice rooted in more than 30 years of Chinese martial arts

Mickaël's introduction to Chinese medicine is closely linked to his practice of Chinese martial arts—Kung Fu and Tai Ji Quan—which he began at a very young age.

Throughout his career, he has met various Chinese masters who also practice traditional Chinese medicine. These interactions gradually deepened his interest in this approach and led him to begin his training as a therapist.

Even today, this experience continues to influence the way she understands movement, mobility, and how the body functions, particularly in her work with Tui Na and with clients seeking treatment for pain or tension.

Mickaël also holds a DEJEPS certification in external Chinese martial arts and has taught martial arts as well as Chinese medicine.
