The therapist seeks to eliminate all the disorders/blockages that our body has stored up as a result of light or heavy trauma related to the reason for consultation.

Tissue memory

Microkinesitherapy at Clinique Naturelle with Thibaud Laglaine, ASCA-certified therapist.

What is microkinesitherapy?

Microkinesitherapy is a complementary therapy. Initiated in the 1980s by physiotherapists Daniel Grosjean and Patrice Benini, the practice continues to evolve.

Microkinesitherapy takes into account the whole organism and the whole person. Using a specific manual technique called micropalpation, it identifies the cause(s) (etiology) of the symptoms at the origin of the consultation, and induces their elimination through light stimulation of the body, triggering repair mechanisms.

Microkinesitherapy is both curative and preventive.

Suitable for all stages of life, its wide range of indications makes it a first-rate tool.

Recent experiments with microkinesitherapy have demonstrated its effectiveness and are gradually increasing its scientific validation, which, combined with daily testimonials and positive feedback from patients, give it a prime position in the fields of health and well-being.

The practitioner performs light, targeted and often imperceptible palpations on different areas of the body. The child is clothed, lying down or seated, depending on comfort. A session lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

The principles of micro-physiotherapy

The repair mechanism Tissue memory Micropalpation Re-information
Every day, your body, like any other living organism, adapts, defends and repairs itself in the face of external aggression, whether viral, environmental, traumatic or emotional.

This natural capacity for self-repair or self-healing takes place silently, without us even noticing. Wounds heal, bones knit together, infectious agents are eliminated, and emotional shocks evacuated.

Tissue memory appears when the self-repair mechanism has failed.

If the aggression is greater than the body's ability to defend itself, or if it is poorly identified by the organism, or if the organism is weakened, a memory of the aggression is established, resulting in an alteration in the vitality of the body tissue concerned, a kind of memory of the event, otherwise known as "pathogenic scarring".

The accumulation of these memories will lead to the appearance of symptoms, or even pathologies, over the long term.

Micropalpation, a specific palpatory technique, enables the therapist to assess the functional state and degree of vitality of the tissues.

In fact, the tissues of our body are animated by a particular rhythm called " primary respiratory movement " in osteopathy, or " palpatory rhythmic manifestation " in microkinesitherapy.

Pathogenic scarring manifests itself in the loss of this natural and particular mobility of the tissue, and for the therapist results in the perception of a sensation of restriction between his hands.

Re-information is the gesture, the practitioner's action on your body.

It's the stimulation provided to your body, and above all the information it contains, that will enable tissue mobility to resume, translating the elimination of these pathogenic memories or scars.

A gentle, child-friendly approach

Microkinesitherapy is fully adapted to children's sensitivity. The touch is light, precise and non-intrusive, enabling the child to remain relaxed throughout the session.

This therapy respects the child's rhythm and emotions, and does not try to force a reaction. The child is seen as a whole: body, history, environment. It's a caring approach, designed to support the child's physical and emotional development in a natural way.

A process that sometimes takes time

After a microkinesitherapy session, the effects can be progressive. The child's body continues to work for several days, even weeks. So it's quite normal for results not to be immediate. Sometimes, it may take some time for balance to return. The therapist may recommend a longer follow-up period, depending on the child's needs and progress.

Contraindications

Microkinesitherapy is a gentle therapy, but it calls on the body's self-regulatory capacities. It is therefore preferable that the child has no fever or acute illness on the day of the session, as this could interfere with the body's work. If in doubt, don't hesitate to postpone the session or ask the therapist for advice. However, this technique is not a substitute for medical follow-up where necessary.

What's more, after a session, the body continues to self-regulate for several days, or even weeks. It is therefore preferable to avoid scheduling other therapies in the two weeks following a microkinesitherapy session.

The little plus

To ensure that the child feels at ease during the session, it's perfectly possible - and even advisable - to bring along a blanket, toy or familiar object. This reassuring cue helps the session to run more smoothly, especially for the youngest children, and enables the therapist to work in a serene, relaxed atmosphere.
