Does your child need to regain self-confidence? Find his place in his circle of friends? Is he often stressed or anxious? Is he having trouble making sense of what he's going through, or managing his priorities and emotions? Does he need to explore his values, his creativity, or simply take a moment to refocus?
Is your child going through a difficult period (bereavement, separation, difficulties at school, exam preparation, illness, birth of a brother or sister...) and would you like age-appropriate support?

What is sophrology for children?
Sophrology is a mind-body method that helps children better understand their feelings, calm down, concentrate and regain self-confidence.
Through breathing games, gentle movements and adapted visualizations, children learn to :
- relax
- express emotions
- focus
- better manage stress or anger
- take your place with greater confidence

What do you need to know?
Sophrology for children and teenagers can help with a wide range of everyday problems:
- Anxiety, stress, fears, phobias
- Sleep disorders (falling asleep, nightmares)
- Frequent tantrums or difficulty managing emotions
- Lack of self-confidence or self-esteem
- Difficulties at school or concentrating
- Separation, family changes
- School bullying
- Neuroatypia (HPI, ADHD, ASD...)
- Preparing for an exam or major change
It is also indicated simply to help children refocus, get to know themselves and grow serenely.
How does a session work?
Each session is unique, adapted to the cognitive and motor development and personality of the child or teenager.
A typical session:
- Exchange time: the child or teenager is welcomed in a climate of trust. They can express themselves freely about their feelings.
- Body or breathing games: to refocus, let off steam or calm down.
- Guided visualizations: the child or teenager is invited to imagine a positive scene, an inner resource or a soothing place.
- Final exchanges: the child or teenager shares (or not) his or her experiences, at his or her own pace, orally, in writing or by drawing.
For the little ones, the session is very visual, sometimes accompanied by stories, drawings or sensory objects.
The first session takes place in the presence of the parents to define their needs.
Follow-up sessions can be held without parents being present.
At the end of the session, feedback can be given to the accompanying parent (systematically for children under 12 and with the teenager's agreement), and small exercises to be repeated at home can be suggested to reinforce the effects.
⚠️ Important note: As the child or adolescent is seen without his or her parents during follow-up sessions, the therapist requires written consent from the legal representatives.
Why choose sophrology for your child?
Sophrology is a method :
- Gentle and non-intrusive
- Creative and colorful (especially for younger children)
- Empowering: children acquire concrete tools they can use on their own
- Immediate relaxing effect, but also profound long-term effects

Sophrology or hypnosis: which approach should I choose for my child?
Hypnosis and sophrology are two natural and effective approaches, but with slightly different modes of action.
Sophrology is often part of a gradual process, helping children to better manage their emotions, boost their self-confidence or improve their concentration. It is ideal in cases of stress, sleep disorders, agitation or difficulty expressing feelings.
Hypnosis, on the other hand, is particularly indicated when a child needsrapid, targeted change, for example in the case of phobias, enuresis, tics, chronic pain or intense anxiety disorders. It is well suited to children with vivid imaginations, who can easily immerse themselves in a symbolic universe. To find out more about hypnosis for children - click here.
In some cases, the two methods can be complementary, and the choice will also depend on your child's sensitivity and the therapist's approach. At Clinique Naturelle, we take the time to discuss with you what is best for your child.
