In the event of surgery, a number of treatments may be recommended to improve certain aspects of convalescence.
Scar massage
The healing process can be enhanced by massage (after any type of surgery). To soften scar tissue and avoid adhesions, it's a good idea to start massaging the scar between 5 and 8 weeks after surgery, unless the pain is acute and requires medical attention.
This massage can also be performed on an old scar to improve vascularization.
Lymphatic drainage: essential post-surgery care
Edema is a normal reaction of the body after surgery. The lymphatic system is responsible for eliminating the microbes, damaged cells and blood effusions (bruises) associated with the operation.
Left untreated, edema can last from a week to several months. The lymphatic system, overwhelmed, can sometimes go into fibrillation and no longer be effective.
By stimulating the joint through drainage, swelling and bruising are reduced more rapidly, and mobility is restored more quickly (a swollen joint cannot bend). Convalescence is shortened.
This treatment must be recommended by your doctor.
Please report any high blood pressure, heart or kidney failure, thrombosis or high blood pressure that may contraindicate drainage.
Thank you for informing us of the presence of an implant or pregnancy: drainage is always possible, but in accordance with the implant area and from the 3rd month of pregnancy.
As part of cosmetic surgery, the surgeon frequently recommends treating the operated area with lymphatic drainage postoperatively (this is a localized drainage).
